Apr 25, 2024 · Bellshill is a town found in North Lanarkshire ten miles southeast of Glasgow city centre which has produced many famous faces. The first mention of the town dates back to 1596 when it appeared on a handwritten map by Timothy Pont with it having a rich history of being an industrial town.

Peter Thomas Anthony Manuel (13 March 1927 – 11 July 1958) was an American-Scottish serial killer who was convicted of murdering seven people across Lanarkshire and southern Scotland between 1956 and his arrest in January 1958, and is believed to have murdered two more.
On his death, his wife inherited the property and, as she acquired much of the Orbiston estate, she renamed the house Orbiston. Mrs Cecilia Douglas moved in exalted circles: at one time or another she entertained Sir Waiter Scott, the Duke of Wellington, and Sir John Moore of Corunna fame.
