About. BAUHAUS: A NEW ERA portrays the political upheaval, the class struggle, the rise of Nazism and a Europe wrapped in a wave of modern ideas after the end of the First World War. In the midst of this era of great turbulence, two young and radical souls begin to fall in love: the artist Dörte Helm and the founder of the Bauhaus, Walter Gropius.
The year is 1919, the Great War is over, and Dörte Helm becomes part of a group of young artists and revolutionaries who evolve from the Lost to the Golden Generation.
