WWI has just ended; the old imperial empires have collapsed. Europe is swept up in a wave of modern ideas. During this age of turmoil, a young woman named Doerte Helm is studying arts. Hearing Walter Gropius’ first speech about a new era at the newly-founded Bauhaus school, she follows his call.
Dörte Helm, a young art student in Weimar, follows Walter Gropius’ call and joins the newly-founded Bauhaus school. A love story grows between Gropius and Dörte, adding fuel to the fire of the ensuing scandal threatening the very existence of the Bauhaus; the school of art that would go on to shape the 20th century like no other….
Following a screening to film professionals of the first two episodes at the Cannes Series Festival, the world premiere of all six episodes at the Munich Film Festival and public broadcasting of the series in Germany, audiences in the US can now look forward to watching “Bauhaus – A New Era”.
