Section 1 (1) (a): take, or permit to be taken or to make. These words are to be given their natural and ordinary meaning: R v Bowden [2000] 1 Cr. App. R. 438.
The Paedophile Online Investigation Team carried out a search of his property in August 2017 where Morris, 60, admitted officers would find images on his computer. Laptops and hard drives were seized and Morris was arrested. When his devices were examined, more than 25,000 indecent images were recovered, including pictures and movies.

Police officers acting on intelligence visited his home in Rawtenstall where they found nine Category B still pictures of children on a computer belonging to him. Rusden, 67, obtained the images over the period of February 20, 2015 and February 9, 2019.
