AutoFocus, formerly named AutoRaise, takes its inspiration from the discontinued Zooom/2 Auto Raise feature and extends it with a very powerful and flexible workflow in a modern modular Swift codebase.

What's the purpose of the "Handle Desktop as a window" option?
While this is disabled by default, AutoFocus can handle the Desktop just as another window, meaning that when the cursor is over the Desktop, the most recent Finder window will be brought to the front. This doesn't seem like much but imagine digging through several applications windows to raise that Finder window back.

Dec 18, 2018 · SGP has a good autofocus routine built in (though it does struggle with Globular Clusters, but that's a whole different thread...!). Don't know what your current software suite consists of, but if looking for a complete imaging suite, SGP is a very efficient and cost effective solution.

In finder, look for mounted disk image on side bar at left. Drag the AutoRaise.app into the Applications folder. Then open AutoRaise from Applications. Left click the menu bar balloon at top to give permissions to AutoRaise in System/Accessibility. Right click the menu bar balloon at top, then select preferences.
