Jan 26, 1996 · If there’d been an otherworldly sci-fi category, “Screamers” would be right at the top of the list. It’s not exactly a bad movie; it’s made with a certain imagination and intelligence. But its future is so grungy and grim it makes our current mess look like Utopia.

I like both sci-fi and horror, and this looked like a great Terminator-esque hard sci-fi movie. Boy was that wrong. Although Peter Weller did a pretty good job, the plot felt disjointed the entire movie. And then there’s the surprise twist: everyone’s a screamer. No exceptions.

Screamers (1995) oh man it is frustrating how close this movie is to being great! Based on a Philip K Dick story. Premise is great, the paranoia once it settles in communications from earth are "deep fakes" of a commander thats been dead for two years.
