   Are s9910 Sherwood receivers made in Japan?

   • I own 2 of the S9910 Sherwood Receivers and they are receivers that were built in JAPAN for Sherwood Electronics Lab. Japanese Build Quality in a Powerful 200 Watt Receiver. Vintage Classic ! I'm basing my rating on the S-110 which seems to be identical except for an additional 10 watts/channel.

   Is a Sherwood s9910 a good buy?

   • I bought my Sherwood S9910 in London Ontario last year for a good price. It is in good shape, but not perfect (1 switch has been replaced w/o stock piece), etc. I also have a Sansui 8080DB (late production run in great shape) and a completely restored Pioneer Sx-1010.

   • The Sherwood S-9910 receiver is warm, detailed, clear, and powerful with 100wpc. In my opinion, it is one of those vintage receivers that everyone should hear if they are into vintage receivers. Although Sherwood did not produce thousands of these like Pioneer or Marantz, it is very rare and sounds amazing.

   How much does a Sherwood receiver cost?

   • This is for music only, and the budget is $200. Unless there is a better receiver within the budget that would outperform the Sherwood, let me know. I know their Mid to High end receivers in the Newcastle line are considered good quality, now sure about their lower end. Maybe someone else could chime on on that.
