Dec 1, 2023 · California lowered the cut score for its bar exam in 2020, but that appears not to have been enough to save Golden Gate. These four schools graduated 817 JD students in 2013. That was nearly 16% of the 5184 graduates of ABA-accredited law schools that year.
By 2022, enrollment dropped by over 25 percent compared to 2009, despite just three schools losing their ABA accreditation. Enrollment at unaccredited law schools declined even more so than at ABA-approved schools (over 80 percent since 2009).
None of the T-14 law schools had employment rates below 83%. At the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, approximately 89% of the 2020 graduates had long-term, full-time jobs that required bar passage, compared to 90% of the 2019 graduates.

Two schools previously approved by the ABA also transitioned to being accredited by the State Bar. As a result, there was a notable increase in CALS enrollment in 2020. Among the 25 unaccredited schools that were open in 2009, 19 closed their operations and three converted to a CALS by 2022.
