Dec 5, 2014 · Where do you get Advanced Reading Copies (ARCs)? This is something I've always wondered and I've been learning bits and pieces everywhere, but there seems to be no single place to go for the answer. So, I asked my fellow librarians on ALA: Think Tank to help me come up with a list.
An advanced reader copy (or ARC) is a not-quite-finished version of your book that is given to early readers. While an advanced reader copy is technically one of the earliest versions of a book, it is not a complete version.

What is an advanced reader copy? An advance reader copy is an early copy of the book that’s released to a select audience before its official publication. This helps generate word-of-mouth marketing before the book is put on the shelves. They are sometimes called advance review copies, or ARCs.
