Antonyms, opposite words: worksheets pdf, handouts to print, printable exercises. Opposite adjectives, nouns and verbs. English grammar resources.
Below you’ll find free, printable worksheets to teach antonyms and synonyms. Antonyms are words that have opposite meanings. Synonyms are words that have similar meanings.
In these worksheets, students are tested on their ability to identify a synonym (a word that has nearly the same meaning) or antonym (a word that has the opposite meaning) of a given word. While it helps to have knowledge of word meanings, this is not completely necessary in most cases.
Instructors can use these pages to give their students practice with antonyms. Activities include filling in blanks or matching words using antonyms from a word bank, using prefixes to build antonyms out of root words, rewriting sentences to change their meaning into the opposite, and more.
We’ve created numerous worksheets to help either your child or student learn antonyms. Antonym Worksheet 1. We offer a free printable antonym worksheet that focuses on the following words: on, off, above, below, in, out, near, far, before, after, left & right. Antonym Worksheet 2.
