Anthony's Nose is a 900+ ft (270 m) peak in the Hudson Highlands along the east bank of the Hudson River in the hamlet of Cortlandt Manor, New York. It lies at the extreme northwest end of Westchester County, and serves as the east anchor of the Bear Mountain Bridge.
Dec 30, 2022 · It’s like you’ve scored tickets in the skybox for the Bear Mountain Bridge. This hike is only steep for the first .6 miles, then it’s smooth sailing all the way to Anthony’s Nose, following an old, relatively flat road for about .75 miles to the overlook.
Jul 4, 2018 · Anthony’s Nose is a peak along the Hudson River at the north end of Westchester County, New York. Together with Dunderberg Mountain, it comprises the South Gate of the Hudson Highlands. The 910 ft. peak has been known as Anthony’s Nose since at least 1697, when the name appears on a grant patent.
Sep 19, 2019 · Anthony’s Nose resembles a person’s nose when viewed in profile from the Hudson River, and so was a well known landmark. Anthony’s Nose was also strategically important. The road at its base along the Hudson River (present day US 202) was a choke-point in the Hudson Highlands north of Peekskill.

Jul 17, 2024 · Today we’re hiking Anthony’s Nose, one of the most popular hikes in the Hudson Valley thanks to the sweeping views of the region awarded at the top. Because of the vista, it’s a bit crowded, but that doesn’t deter us from making the ascent.
