COLUMBUS. The story of the most famous steel tubes in the history of cycling began in 1919 when Angelo Luigi Colombo founded his steel mill with the ambition to “to do busi ness in iron and steel and make a fair and honest profit".
With his tubing well-proven in the bicycle industry, Angelo Luigi saw strength in creativity and diversity and was soon supplying material for the tubular frames of seaplanes and road vehicles, as well as for furniture and ski-poles.
