The Space Between was created for the Taking Part Department at the Young Vic Theatre in Summer 2017. It was created for a Special Educational Needs and Disability audience. It tells the story of Lucy, a quiet teenager whose plans to run away are held up when she discovers an injured, magical creature.
In 1959, American musician Paul Nordoff and British teacher Clive Robbins pioneered a new approach to collaborative music-making, designed to engage vulnerable and isolated children. In the 1970s, a charity was formed to develop and deliver their radical but highly impactful form of music therapy.
Whatever format we’re working in we strive to make ambitious event pieces that enter the public consciousness and create a cultural dent far beyond that of their originating medium. SUMS is headed up by Producer Andy Brunskill and is a proud member of the Anthology Group.
