is a 2022 drama fantasy film inspired by the story of Peter Pan. It is written and directed by Livia De Paolis, who also stars in the film alongside Ella-Rae Smith, Ava Fillery, Joely Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, Louis Partridge, and Iain Glen. The film is based upon Laurie Fox's 2003 novel of the same name, which is loosely based upon J. M. Barrie's novel Peter and Wendy. It was produced by Ingenious Media and LipSync Post.It

The film is set in the modern world a few generations after the events of the original J. M. Barrie novel. It follows four generations of the women of the Darling family as they struggle in the aftermath of their adventures with Peter Pan (Louis Partridge) in Neverland. Like her grandmother (Vanessa Redgrave), and her mother Jane (Joelyn Richardson), Wendy (Livia De Paolis) must escape Pan's hold on her and the promise he desperately wants her to keep. And as her daughter Berry (Ella-Rae Smith) comes into Pan’s orbit, Wendy must fight to save her relationship with her daughter while reconciling her legacy.

•Emily Carey played young Wendy and Amelia Minto played Wendy as a child.

•Ella-Rae Smith as Berry, Wendy and Adam's daughter.

    •Ava Fillery as Little Berry

•Joely Richardson as Jane, Wendy's mother and Great Nana's daughter, who went missing sometime after her daughter was born.

In September 2019 it was announced that Livia De Paolis would be adapting Laurie Ann Fox's novel into film. De Paolis, whose family ran Rome’s famous De Paolis Studio, said, “I have been fascinated with the hidden meanings of fairy tales since childhood, so when I read Laurie Fox’s novel The Lost Girls I was immediately on board with the way she reinvents J.M. Barrie’s timeless fairytale for a contemporary audience." Myriad president and CEO Kirk D’Amico stated that "We are delighted to be working with the producers and with writer/director Livia De Paolis who has a vision for this retelling of the Peter Pan story in the Me Too era."

Laurie Ann Fox served as executive producer alongside D’Amico, Andrea Scarso and Jamie Jessop for Ingenious Media, Norman Merry and Peter Hampden for LipSync and Razwana Akram. De Paolis, who also directed the film, served as producer alongside Sam Tipper-Hale and Peter Touche.

Ellen Burstyn, Emma Thompson and her daughter Gaia Wise were originally set to star in the film as Great Nana, Jane and Berry respectively when the project was announced; however, they exited the project at some point with Joely Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, and Ella-Rae Smith taking their places respectively. Julian Ovenden as Clayton, Parker Sawyers as Adam, Emily Carey as young Wendy, Louis Partridge as Peter Pan, and Iain Glen as Hook would round out the ensemble cast.

Principle photography was shot in England during the COVID 19 pandemic with support from the British Screen Sector Task Forces and the UK government. Producers Tipper-Hale and Touche called making an independently financed film during a pandemic "a small bigger miracle", with the cast and crew undergoing filming under necessary pandemic protocols and a heatwave. Filming wrapped in September 2020.

Myriad and UTA co-repped the film for the U.S. with UTA Independent Film Group taking the lead on the sale. Altitude acquired UK and Irish rights to the film in a deal with Myriad Pictures in November 2021. Altitude originally planned to release the film sometime in late spring 2022, then later confirmed release dates on June 17, 2022, alongside Ve...
