Sep 5, 2012 · Andor’s life took a severely bad turn when Germany, fearing that Hungary would make a separate peace treaty with the Allies, invaded Hungary on March 19, 1944 and installed a Hungarian Nazi supporter to be prime minister. Pünkösti was removed as head of the theater in April.

Andor Pünkösti was born on 31 October 1892 in Kassa, Hungary, Austria-Hungary [now Kosice, Slovak Republic]. He was a writer and director, known for Álomsárkány (1939), Elkésett levél (1941) and Bünös vagyok! (1942). He died on 12 July 1944 in Budapest, Hungary.
