Nov 18, 2017 · AMC made over 55,000 Hornet hatchbacks in 1974 but out of 23 great photos in this listing there isn’t one photo with the hatchback open in this car. I’m guessing that maybe the lift struts are worn out.

Overall, R&T was “pleasantly surprised” with the Hornet, due to its packaging, looks, performance and economy. That is of course if it’s optioned right.
