Mar 14, 2019 · Step forward Alan Mullery. It could only have been him. The captain, back from beyond the grave, sent a powerful first-time shot beyond goalkeeper Fabio Cudicini to make it 1-0 Spurs after seven minutes.
Alan Mullery was a quick central midfielder, who made his debut as a youngster for Fulham in 1958. He played the majority of his career at Tottenham, making over 300 appearances for Spurs, before re-joining Fulham for the latter part of his career in 1972.
Apr 4, 2015 · Following the recent announcement that Alan Mullery is set to be inducted into the National Football Museum’s English Hall of Fame, we caught up with our legendary former captain to discuss his forthcoming honour and a host of other topics – including the recent England debuts of Ryan Mason and Harry Kane.
Alan, who was born in London, began his footballing career with Fulham FC in 1958 at the age of 17. After one game short of 200 for the club, Alan transferred to Tottenham Hotspur FC in March 1964 for a record transfer fee of £72,500.
