Alan Patrick Mullery MBE (born 23 November 1941) is an English former footballer and manager. After enjoying a successful career with Fulham , Tottenham Hotspur , and the England national team in the 1960s and 1970s, he became a manager working with several clubs.
That unwanted distinction fell to Tottenham midfielder Alan Mullery. After graduating through the ranks at Fulham, Mullery made his first-team debut in 1958 and quickly established himself as a regular in the starting line-up. The following year, he was handed the captaincy of the club after injury removed Johnny Haynes from the equation.
