Jan 7, 2020 · While Mumbai, a city he called home, was in the process of putting together two shows this week, 91-year old artist Akbar Padamsee passed away peacefully in Coimbatore on Monday evening.
In 2010, he was awarded the Padama Bhushan by the government of India. In the last years of his life, Padamsee and his wife Bhanu moved into the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, where he died in January 2020 at the age of 91.
