Feb 3, 2015 · Recently described as Salford's leading school, it merged with Pendleton College in 1997. This was due largely to the hostile climate spawned by the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 . The merger proved to be the first step in De La Salle's ultimate demise.

Taught English throughout the school during the 1950's. He came across as a sadistic Irishman who spent his spare time devising devilish methods of corporal punishment to inflict on putative miscreants. He later went and lectured in Education at Hopwood Hall, Middleton.
Pendleton College was a sixth form college in Pendleton, Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It was established in 1973 and merged with Salford College and Eccles College to form Salford City College in 2009.
