A green oasis in the middle of Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has provided a world-class garden experience to its visitors since 1893. Explore the beauty and wonders of nature at Phipps, encompassing 15 acres including a 14-room glasshouse and 23 distinct gardens.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is located at One Schenley Park in Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood.
Visitors are encouraged to travel to Phipps by bus or bike. Bike parking can be found at the Welcome Center.If you travel by car, free parking is available in the center island and metered parking is available on either side of Schenley Drive (free on Sundays). There are also lot parking options.
While all visitors are welcome to take a self-guided tour some may prefer a group tour. The Conservatory Tour is limited to 40 guests at an additional charge. The Production Greenhouse and Sustainability tours are temporarily on hold, check back for updates. Group tours need to be reserved at least 30 days in advance.
Hours of operation. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens welcome visitors daily from 9:30 am through 8 pm. (For your notice, some parts of public gardens might get closed due to private events.) The only non-operational days are Thanksgiving and Christmas (closed from 5 pm on December 24 through 9:30 am on December 26).

Popular rooms include the Desert Room, the Japanese Garden, and the Tropical Forest Conservatory. Inside just one building, you can visit the whole world.
