There's not always the option to observe those classes – the faculty and the fellows want to make sure that they have an environment where they're able to give and receive constructive feedback.

2025–2026 Admission Requirements. All applicants for admission to the MFA program or Certificate of Completion at the AFI Conservatory must submit the following: ONLINE APPLICATION. Applications for Fall 2025 for all disciplines (Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Producing, Production Design and Screenwriting) will open September 2024.
India: the AFI Conservatory may consider three-year Indian bachelor’s degree if they were earned in Division 1, and the awarding institution is currently accredited by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a letter grade “A” or better. Applicants and incoming Fellows with degrees earned from India are highly encouraged to choose WES as their IBE evaluator.
