2025–2026 Admission Requirements. All applicants for admission to the MFA program or Certificate of Completion at the AFI Conservatory must submit the following: ONLINE APPLICATION. Applications for Fall 2025 for all disciplines (Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Producing, Production Design and Screenwriting) will open September 2024.
International applicants must submit an English proficiency score if the native language of their country of citizenship is English* or be exempt as described below. The AFI Conservatory accepts TOEFL (iBT, MyBestScore, and Essentials), IELTS or Duolingo. Test scores must reflect tests taken within 24 months of submission.
Supplies Allowance. $4,500. Transportation Allowance. $2,700. Misc./Personal Expense/Loan Fees. $6,222. *The living expense budget is an estimate only, and it is meant to give a general idea of living expense costs for the academic year for planning purposes.
