Dec 12, 2002 · Jack Nicholson plays Warren Schmidt, a retired insurance actuary, who is unhappily married and facing the inconvenience of the upcoming wedding of his daughter Jeannie. When he is suddenly bereaved, he finds love letters sent to her by his best friend, and is inspired to stop his daughter's wedding.
Warren Schmidt is retiring from a lifetime of service and he feels utterly adrift: his only daughter is about to marry a boob and his wife dies suddenly after 42 years of marriage. Warren is desperate to find something meaningful in his unimpressive life.
