A melodramatic war film that falls flat despite its ambitious scope. The story, which aims for emotional depth and epic tension, feels overly contrived and lacks genuine impact. Even with a talented cast that includes William Hurt and Timothy Hutton, the performances can't rise above the uninspired script.
