Mar 11, 2021 · Begin playing piano chords by using simple blocked chords, then venture out into using broken chords to add movement and inversions to add smoothness to the progression. It will be challenging, and will take a lot of practice, but will be well worth the effort!

- Visualization. Visualization is a musician's best friend. And I don't mean this in the “positive mindset/manifest your success” kind of way. I mean it in a very literal sense.
- 60-Second Challenge. There are 3 levels of the 60-second challenge, each one building on the last. You'll want to start with the individual chords challenge, then move up to the paired chords challenge, then move up to the chord progressions challenge.
- Piano Chords. For all you beginners, the notes are the individual white and black keys you see on the piano or a keyboard. Chords are groups of three or more notes that you play at the same time.
- Major Chords. Root Note. Major 3rd. Perfect 5th. All major chords contain three notes from a major scale. When you play the root note, the third note, and the fifth note of a major scale, you create a major chord.
- Minor Chords. Root Note. Minor 3rd. Perfect 5th. Minor chords work similarly to major chords because all minor chords use the same three notes, but these notes come from a minor scale.
- Key of C Major. C major has the first five basic piano chords. The key of C major is one of the easiest keys to begin learning the piano. There are no sharps or flats in this key, so all the basic major and minor chords in this key contain only the white keys on the piano.
