  3. Simple comedic merits aside, A Girl in Every Port builds its narrative in effective and subtle ways, and isn't telling the same story by the end that it was telling at the start. The experience is episodic without becoming formulaic, and Victor McLaglen and Robert Armstrong make for very watchable leads. Definitely Howard Hawks' first great film.
