Marionette lines are a natural symptom of ageing skin that can affect anyone as they begin to age. Fundamentally, marionette lines are characterised as lines around the mouth, but can commonly be mistaken for other wrinkles around the mouth such as nasolabial folds.

- Surgery for marionette lines. The only wrinkle treatment considered permanent is surgery. For significant wrinkles, a dermatologic surgeon might recommend a rhytidectomy (facelift).
- Laser resurfacing. While also considered an invasive therapy for wrinkles, laser treatments don’t require the incisions that facelifts do. Laser resurfacing works by removing the top layers of your skin via lasers.
