Jack Peter Shepherd (born 14 January 1988) is an English actor. He is known for portraying the role of David Platt on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street since 2000. For his portrayal of David, he has won various awards including the British Soap Award for Villain of the Year in 2008 and Best Actor in 2018, respectively.
David Platt (also Tilsley) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street. He was born on-screen during the episode broadcast on 26 December 1990. He was played by Thomas Ormson from his first appearance until 15 March 2000 when Ormson left.

- His scams and his anger. It was way back in 2000 was when we began to see David Platt’s troubled side. Not even a year into Jack P Shepherd’s debut as the character and we saw David at nine-years-old get arrested for shoplifting after trying to draw attention to himself because of his jealousy towards Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) newborn baby Bethany.
