It wasn't a record-setter or even a dramatic game-changer, but Michael Tucker made Turner Field officially feel like a ballpark when he crushed the first home run there in 1997 off the Cubs' Kevin Foster.
By 2005, the annual division title in Atlanta had become passe, if not taken for granted. But 2005 marked the end of a string of 14 straight titles that began in the Braves' worst-to-first season in 1991. It's a record unlikely to be broken in any sport. Impressive then, impressive now.
The Braves played in just one World Series during the Turner Field era — a four-game sweep at the hands of the Yankees in 1999. But in Game 1, for a fleeting few innings, the Braves and their fans were on top of the world after Chipper Jones put Atlanta on top with a fourth-inning solo homer.
Andruw Jones made lots of great plays in center field, but this one in 1999 is the only one to live on as a bobblehead. The weird thing is, it might not even be the best catch Jones ever made.
The Braves and Pirates were deadlocked 3-3 in the bottom of the 19th inning on July 26, 2011, when Julio Lugo tried to score on a grounder to third. The throw home clearly beat him, but umpire Jerry Meals called Lugo safe, claiming the tag had missed him, ending the pre-replay-era game and earning himself the kind of scorn Pirates fans had previous...
The so-called Baby Braves made a big impression during the 2005 season, culminating with Brian McCann's home run off Roger Clemens in Game 2 of the NLDS that gave the Braves a lead en route to their only win of the series.
Jeff Francoeur was hyped as the next big thing for the Braves, the type of player who could be the face of the franchise for a decade or more. He didn't disappoint in his first MLB game on July 7, 2005, smashing a homer to right center for his first career hit.
Even though they had just eliminated the Braves from the NLDS, the Giants paused their on-field celebration to pay tribute to Atlanta manager Bobby Cox, who had just managed his last MLB game in what was a Hall of Fame career. It was a classy move by the Giants that showcased what Cox meant to baseball.
Eventual Hall of Famer John Smoltz became the 16th member of the 3,000 strikeout club on April 22, 2008, when he fanned the Nationals’ Felipe Lopez in the third inning. Smoltz would finish his career with 3,084 strikeouts, good for 16th all time.
A year after hitting into a double play to complete Atlanta's excruciating September collapse in 2011, Freddie Freeman produced the opposite result when his walk-off homer against the Marlins clinched a wild-card spot for the Braves in 2012. MORE: Braves won a lot in the '90s, but should've won more

- NL Champions: Oct. 19, 1999. After the Braves and Mets traded runs all night, Game 6 of the NLCS went to extras. Both teams scored in the 10th before Andruw Jones drew a bases-loaded walk in the 11th to end the series and send the Braves to their only Fall Classic of the Turner Field era.
- Chip, Chip, Hooray: Sept. 2, 2012. Given his tendency to deliver in the clutch, it was only fitting that Chipper Jones' final career home run was a three-run, walk-off shot against the Phillies.
- Big Cat's Return: April 3, 2000. Video: Galarraga starts off 2000 with a thunderous blast. After missing the entire 1999 season while undergoing treatment for lymphatic cancer, Andres Galarraga began the 2000 campaign with a solo homer on Opening Day.
- Say Hey to the Kid: April 5, 2010. A 20-year-old Jason Heywardearned an Opening Day roster spot and validated the hype surrounding him when he hit a three-run blast off the Cubs' Carlos Zambranowith the first swing he took for his hometown club.
