Anglesey Abbey is a National Trust property in the village of Lode, 51⁄2 miles (8.9 km) northeast of Cambridge, England. The property includes a country house, built on the remains of a priory, 98 acres (400,000 m 2) of gardens and landscaped grounds, and a working mill.
Anglesey Abbey is believed to have been founded by Henry I in 1135 as the Hospital of St Mary. In the early 13th century, it was converted into a priory of Augustinian canons (despite its name, it was never strictly speaking an abbey).

PRINCIPAL BUILDING Anglesey Abbey (listed grade I) is a country house built of limestone and clunch under a steeply pitched tiled roof, laid out in two main ranges each of which forms a T-plan. The Abbey is built in two storeys with attics, the main south front having five bays which look out across the pleasure grounds.

For 12 years, our staff and volunteers have enjoyed putting on this nature-inspired evening event but feel that now is the time to focus on something new.
