Dec 11, 2023 · regarding this PNC Bank issue, I tried on my own today, and I was able to connect my four PNC accounts with "PNC Bank - Direct Connect". I was able to authorize successfully on the web, at last! Perhaps this means they actually have resolved the issue, since I didn't run into any errors, and my PNC balances are correct.
In the search box, enter “PNC” and select “PNC Bank – Direct Connect” Add credentials when prompted (social security number and a PIN that the PNC Bank provided when initially online access was established). For example, I had to locate this PIN from my records which was issued in 2013. The system will prompt you to change the PIN.
For PNC you will be able to go back two years. You should login to the PNC website and go to "My Accounts" > "Account Activity". Then, in the "Posted Transactions" section, change the "Last 90 days" button to "Custom Date Range " and change the "From" field to "01/01/2021". Then click "Export" and then click the "Quicken (.QFX)" button.
As another user reported in the link I posted above, they were told this by Quicken Support: "We have an alert because PNC bank is making some changes on their servers and they are blocking Quicken in the process. This situation was already escalated and we are currently working with PNC Bank to resolve this problem, so please give us some time.
Aug 13, 2024 · PNC Bank - Web Connect: This is the one that pops up to the top when typing in "PNC" in the Add Account search field. This is very unfortunate because while EWC+ connections can be set up with this it has proven to be very unreliable and problematic.
Mar 30, 2024 · I went to an older Quicken backup and PNC bank connection worked fine. The reason I decided to re-establish the connection to the PNC bank was due to the balance . I am not able to re-establish the connection from quicken to PNC Bank after updating. Quicken really needs to work with PNC to resolve this issue.vThis all started on April 2nd for me.

For instance, if one is trying to connect: Virtual Wallet (checking, savings) accounts, make sure to use the PNC - Virtual Wallet connection option. For credit card(s) use the PNC Card Service Online connection option. For Direct Connect use the PNC Bank - Direct Connect ...
You should contact PNC to confirm this and any/all other bank fees that you might be subject to. Setting up DC for PNC is a little more involved than it is with most other banks. Once the accounts are set up for online banking on PNC's website, you will need to contact them to request the UserID and PW for DC.
I have two PNC checking accounts. One is Direct Connect and the other is Web Connect. The Direct works better and faster than Web on my slow satellite connection. I don't see an option to change the Web connect to Direct connect. Is there a way?
