Nürnberg American High School (NAHS) was a Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) system school located near Nürnberg, Germany. One of DoDDS original five high schools in Germany, the school served the children of American military, government and civilian personnel from 1946 until its closing in 1995. [2]

Dec 16, 2020 · NÜRNBERG AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL. Opened 1946 in a private residence in Erlangen. In the Fall of 1947 the school moved to 19 Tannensstr in Fürth. In 1952 a new school was built at 30 Fronmüllerstr and opened Jan 3, 1952.
The school was built in 1906 as a German girls school and during WWII the Germans used it as a hospital. It was used immediately after the war as an American hospital until it was converted for use as the DoDD American School in October 1946. The class of 1948 had only 4 students and again they went to Munich for their graduation ceremony.
