Lenzie is a small and affluent town on the borders of Dunbartonshire and Lanarkshire, six miles north-east of Glasgow city centre and a mile south of Kirkintilloch. It lies on the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway, and the county border cuts right through Lenzie station. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 8,873. [1] .

Mentioned in various medieval documents the village of Lenzie has expanded gradually over the years and latterly became more prominent with the opening of the Glasgow to Edinburgh railway line in 1842.
