In So Damn Easy Going, there's a moment when the movie's teenage protagonist Joanna - already reeling emotionally from a day navigated without her ADHD medication - is hit between the eyes with the epiphany that she has feelings for the new girl in school, Audrey.
When she runs out of ADHD medication and their small family can't afford to buy more, an intense hunt for money begins, a quest that sometimes becomes both embarrassing and dangerous. Without her medication, she becomes "so damn difficult" that she's willing to go to great lengths to get hold of the only thing that can calm her down.
