Our Very Own almost feels like a parody of the 1950s at certain points with the dialogue and performances of the "perfect" family. It was nice to see Ann Blyth play the "good child" in this film--I wanted her to slap her sister Joan so badly the whole time. Would have been a nice circle moment to Mildred Pierce.
