Discover the Kent Downs National Landscape, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching from the white cliffs of Dover to the Surrey and London border. With ancient bluebell woodlands, rugged chalk coastline, internationally rare chalk grassland, and ragstone villages there is beauty to explore all year round.
The Kent Downs National Landscapes is home to one of the highest points in the south east on the Sevenoaks Greensand ridge, not to mention the famous heritage coasts of the Dover and Folkestone White Cliffs.
The Kent Downs National Landscape continues from the Surrey border in a widening ribbon of rolling countryside to meet the sea at the cliffs of Dover. Inland, the Downs rise to over 240m, cresting in a prominent escarpment above the Weald to the south.
Stretching from Westerham in the west to the White Cliffs of Dover in the east, this is a region of much beauty and superb walking trails, most notably along its four famous valleys: the Darent Valley, the Stour Valley, the Elham Valley and the Alkham Valley.

The Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) occupies a strip of land that runs therough central-northern Kent between Sevenoaks (to the west) and to the coast and the White Cliffs of Dover (near Folkestone and Hythe) to the east. The area is part of the larger North Downs region, which also includes Surrey hills AONB.
