Mar 11, 2020 · I've finished the 1st game and about to start Deadfire. I'm asked to choose between the usual real time with pause or turn based. How does turn based play? What determines who goes first? Are there any "Action Points" that determine how much a character can move or attack, etc?
May 12, 2018 · Pause settings are the same for hard and potd: enemy spotted (with stop party from moving), traps found (stop party movement), hidden object found, toon died, toons weapon has done nothing, combat started (stop party movement), low health. I also pause throughout the fights to micro the team.
In RTWP you can pause and cancel or recast the spell if you realize that it will not hit the enemies. TB is also frustrating if you have characters that need to stay close together. Like for example there's a Ranger melee subclass that requires you to stay within 7ft of your hunter pet.
The only live action with pause I've done is Dragon Age I/II/i , and I found that completely fine. Dragon age wasn't particularly hard though, and even there I spent a LOT of time scripting my characters and stuff.
Feb 5, 2019 · Note that you cannot begin an existing game in Turn-Based, and that you must play either Turn-Based or Real Time with Pause. Initiative & Turn Order. In Pillars of Eternity 2 turn-based mode, combat is handled using a “round” system, similar to Divinity Original Sin 2.
Feb 5, 2022 · Pause is available to give more time for difficult decisions. Recovery Time mechanic dictates how frequently characters can perform actions. Duration of effects count down in real-time.
Apr 2, 2022 · General Discussion. I've just wrapped up playing Pillars of Eternity and have started Deadfire not too long ago. Even after playing PoE 1, I'm still struggling to get used to RTWP (real time with pause) combat systems.
