Dec 14, 2012 · Several weeks ago, Mr. Ebert gave enthusiastic review to this terrific film and I decided to talk about it as part of the Korean audience. The movie is good example of suspense defined by Hitchcock; We know who the killer is and what hideous act he can do and what will happen if he can’t be stopped.
The Chaser, a 2008 South Korean thriller, is well worth watching if you haven't already! This movie is definetly up there with the best of korean cinema for me. The movie is quite similiar to I saw the devil in that it has a man working outside of the law to track down a serial killer.

On an overall scale, The Chaser is a deeply unsettling, mercilessly violent & unflinchingly brutal cinema from South Korea that paints a disturbing portrait of a serial killer while also making a subtle statement against the jurisdiction and, in my opinion, is one of the finest thrillers ever made.
