  1. My honest opinion is that Upstairs, Downstairs does it better, and is more complex in its examination of the social/historical/political events throughout the series. The characters in UD are more grey, more flawed, but still lovable for the most part.

  2. I totally agree that it's a masterpiece. I discovered it in the early 2000s when it was on late every night and I'd watch it after work. I watched it again about 10 years ago and now I'm watching it again. I'm at the end of the second season. It's just as enjoyable as the first time watching it.

  4. Once I got past that I found that I really liked the characters and the stories had some very compelling moments. The series has it's ups and downs in quality, but IMO, I'd definitely finish the first season before deciding if it's worth watching. It's a quiz show devised and hosted by David Brent.
