Jul 4, 2024 · Call it coincidence or destiny, I watched Pokiri on exactly the 100th day at Jayshyam theatre, Tirupati. Despite an A (adults only) censor certificate, I was taken to Pokiri mainly because it was the highest grosser and biggest blockbuster of Telugu film industry at that point of time.
You can call this chauvinism or whatever, but bloody nobody but a Telugu person can make the most lavish, large-scale, larger-than-life, crowd-pleasing, entertaining cinema that serves a whole multitude of purposes and also raises questions.
