"Obsessed" (stylized in all lowercase) is the thirteenth and first deluxe track from Olivia Rodrigo's sophomore studio album, GUTS. It was released on November 24, 2023 and rereleased on March 22, 2024, through Geffen Records.
According to Olivia in a tweet, the song was written sometime in 2021.
The track was first teased in a video Olivia's team posted to their Instagram alongside "Scared Of My Guitar", "Stranger" and "Girl I've Always Been".
The track was originally exclusive to the: standard black, web store exclusive red, Spotify Fans First exclusive picture disc, indie exclusive lavender, opaque magenta, Target exclusive sea foam, Amazon exclusive bright pink, Walmart exclusive clear, Hot Topic exclusive bright blue, and Urban Outfitters exclusive light pink GUTS vinyl.
On October 18th, 2023, Olivia announced that "obsessed", along with the other hidden tracks, would be released on a special edition vinyl called GUTS: the secret tracks on Record Store Day.
On March 18, 2024, Olivia’s hotline would play a snippet of the song when called. The following night of March 19, the deluxe version of GUTS, GUTS (spilled), was announced.
On March 20, 2024, Olivia announced that the music video for the song would release at 9pm PT the following day, March 21.
In this song, Rodrigo sings about being jealous and feeling obsessed with knowing and searching for information about someone else's ex-girlfriend.
