Kėdainiai (Lithuanian: [kʲeːˈdâːɪ.nʲɛɪ̯ˑ] ⓘ) is one of the oldest cities in Lithuania. It is located 51 km (32 mi) north of Kaunas on the banks of the Nevėžis River. First mentioned in the 1372 Livonian Chronicle of Hermann de Wartberge, its population as of 2020 was 23,667. Its old town dates to the 17th century.
It is one of seven Old Towns of Lithuania and is a state-protected urbanistic monument. The Old Town has a number of preserved valuable Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist-style buildings, four trading squares of the 15th-17th century and a histor.
Šeteniai is a village in Kėdainiai district municipality, Lithuania. It is situated 13 km north of Kėdainiai , on the left bank of the Nevėžis River . On June 12, 1999 in the former barn of the manor where Czesław Miłosz was born, a Czesław Miłosz cultural center was founded.
