Alhambra Theatre. The Alhambra Theatre opened in Dunfermline, Scotland, on 14 August 1922. Designed by local architect John Fraser, [1] it was constructed over a two-year period by George Stewart of Blantyre and is located on the corner of Canmore Street and New Row.
Mar 1, 2024 · What an amazing theatre this is, built in 1922 as a dual purpose entertainment venue for theatre and cinema. It was a cinema from 1924- 1964. The interior is Egyptian, Classical and Art deco. It survives largely intact and unaltered from its glory days. Performances are by singers, like Eddi Reader, Steve Backshall and many others.
