Entry at 11+, where pupils join us in Year 7 (called First Form), is the largest intake for CLS, as the natural point of entry for children who are finishing their time at primary or preparatory school. Each year, we are delighted to welcome pupils from schools all over London.

Point of entry . 3.1 Pupils are admitted to the School at four regular points of entry: 10+: aged between 10 and 11, for entry into Old Grammar (Year 6). 11+: aged between 11 and 12, for entry into First Form (Year 7). 13+: aged between 13 and 14, for entry into Third Form (Year 9).
Entry Requirements. Each year the school welcomes 60 boys who join in the first form. The City of London School 11 plus examination has the highest intake from all over London. For entry from September 2024, the school has decided to offer bursaries to a wider audience for families with higher incomes.
