Bon Voyage (English: "Have A Good Trip") is a 2003 French film directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau, starring Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu, Virginie Ledoyen and Grégori Derangère; it's very loosely inspired by Professor Lew Kowarski's smuggling of the world's only supplies of heavy water out of France following its occupation by the Nazis.

An American millionaire named Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt was to sail from Southampton to New York via Titanic but had withheld.
If you find this much too light a wartime relationship drama, try w-d Mäx Fäberböck's "Aimée and Jaguar" (1999, in German, based on a true story) with brilliant performances from Juliane Köhler as Aimée and Maria Schrader as Jaguar.
Only part of her story is true. Frederic agrees to hide the body in the trunk of the man’s car and dump the car in a deep canal, but the windshield wipers stop working in the rain. Frederic crashes the car, accidentally knocking himself unconscious, and the trunk pops open to reveal the corpse.

Not that “Bon Voyage” is “Casablanca,” but it proceeds from the same cynicism, and unites the worlds of politics, science and the movies.
