It is likely that during your trip to Peru you will pass through the Lima Airport, located in Callao, more than a couple of times. To me, Lima is one of the better organized and efficient airports you will encounter a lot of the time. How Long Should I Stay in Lima with Kids?
It really depends how long you have in Peru; and where you are travelling from. As Australians we have often flew directly to Peru from Australia. We then spent a couple of days around the hotel adjusting to jet lag. There is so much to do and see in Lima you could easily spend 5 days! Fir families, 3-4 days would let you see the highlights of Miraflores and the Historic Centre.
Is 2 Days in Lima Enough?
In 2 Days you can see the highlights of the Historic Center, and perhaps one additional neighborhood (Barranco or Miraflores). You’ll have to skip many of the tours, museums, and churches. We recommend 3-4 days in Lima if possible.

That’s right, it hasn’t always been called Lima. Originally the city was named ‘La Ciudad de los Reyes’. That translates to the ‘City of Kings’! Lima was the capital city of the Incas. Later, it would also be the capital city of the viceroyalty. So, as you can see, the city of kings was a fitting name for Lima.
