Jan 22, 2016 · I am looking to buy a combination microwave oven but am unsure of the space needed for ventilation. I will have a gap of about 20cm above only 9cm at the back and a metre either side. Does anyone here know if that will be enough for safety purposes.

Jul 10, 2019 · • Minimum 66-inches from floor to top of microwave, which allows 13” to 16” clearance below microwave to cooktop. • Should not be installed over a range or cooktop rated at more than 60,000 BTU.
Most of the microwaves require around at least 3 inches all around, leave three inches of space between the walls and the top, sides, and rear of the microwave oven. But for this one if you can have at least 8 inches all around for safety reasons, and especially from the top since heat rises, will be great!
Maintain a clearance of 3 inches on either side, 3 inches at the top, and one inch at the back. Keep the front edge three inches away from the edge of the shelf or counter. Otherwise, the device may fall off. Also, keep these appliances away from heat sources. Average Microwave Clearance Space. There is no industry standard for clearance.

Over-the-range microwaves do not require air clearance on the sides. These models are installed between cabinets, and can be installed against a wall. If installed next to a deep cabinet or wall on the hinge side (left side), however, current models require 1/2" clearance on the hinge side for the door to open.
