"Wrap Around the Clock, Pt. 1" is the twenty-second episode in the seventh season of the NBC family sitcom Family Ties. It originally aired on April 23, 1989, and is the hundred-and-seventy-second episode of the series overall.
The Keatons recall special moments while helping Andrew fill a "time capsule" with family memorabilia.
Andy is putting together a time capsule for school. The Keatons share memories of years past.
•There are flashbacks to previous episodes throughout the episode:
•"Pilot" - Everyone loves slides shows from the '60s.
•"Ladies' Man" - Alex is in jail as he joins the campaign for the E.R.A. (in order to get a girl).

With a rocky start in the ratings, Family Ties rose to number 2 after it was placed in the prized time-slot right after The Cosby Show and remained there from 1984 until 1987. The series centered around the Keaton family, Steven and his wife Elyse, both flower children of the 1960's.
When Andy asks the family to contribute to his time capsule, the Keaton clan recalls some of their best-loved stories. As a homework assignment, Andy has been given the task of creating a time capsule which reflects his family's history.
