Japanese sense of impotence in face of its rapid westernized country and its phallic desire to overcompensate (so many guns on this one) holed up in a Ulmerian cave. Probably the Oshima film that most resemble his friend Wakamatsu. The sense of increasing hopeless anger served up through careful framing. One of late 60s most notable death trips.
